General introduction

The research group Quantum Technologies for Information Science (QUTIS, www.qutisgroup.com), led by Prof. Enrique Solano, develops cutting-edge theoretical research in fundamentals and implementations in interdisciplinary quantum technologies. The group Microwave Quantum Technologies (MQT) in QUTIS, led by Dr. Mikel Sanz, investigates on microwave quantum technologies associated to quantum computing, communication, and sensing. The MQT group also performs cutting-edge research on quantum memristors, quantum neural networks, and neuromorphic quantum computing.

Role in QMiCS

In QMiCS, the group contributes to all work packages especially by supporting experimentalists in the inter-fridge guided microwave quantum communication experiments, the evaluation of photodetectors, and in the intra-fridge quantum sensing experiments. However, the main effort will be focused on the development of the theoretical framework for the next generation of non-guided microwave quantum protocols via antennae. The provable experience of MQT/QUTIS in superconducting circuits will be will be key in the development of these models and in the study of their feasibility
